Getting help from tutors in competitions

During some of the Grok-hosted competitions, we provide tutoring support to students and teachers. The level of tutoring support varies depending on which competition you are in - if tutor support is available, the competition info page will specify. See our upcoming competitions page for more details.

How do I access Tutor Chat?

At the top of each problem, there's a button to message tutors. This starts a conversation with a friendly tutor, who can help you solve the problem if you're stuck and the marking system's messages aren't helping.

Tutors can see your code and are all programming experts, but don't expect them to solve the problem for you. They're there to help you understand concepts and guide you through solving the problem. Most of all they're there to help you learn, so don't hesitate to reach out. And don't be surprised if you get a message from a tutor asking if you need help!

lease remember to be as polite to tutors online as you would be in real life. Tutors are people too!

Who are the tutors?

You can read our tutor engagement policy here

We have had tutors from WiseTech Global, Atlassian, Canva, Commonwealth Bank, Data 61-CSIRO, Optiver, Freelancer, Google, Dolby and Australian Signals Directorate (among many others) as well as students from top universities across Australia. In addition to answering coding questions, chatting to our tutors is a great opportunity for your students to get career & study advice from students and professionals at some of Australia's best places to work & learn.

If you have any questions about the tutoring system, please email support@groklearning.com and one of our team will get back to you!
